About PCSpecs.io

Independent, unbiased CPU and GPU comparisons to help you make informed hardware decisions.

Our Mission

We believe that choosing computer hardware shouldn't require hours of research across dozens of websites, deciphering marketing jargon, or questioning whether reviews are biased. Our mission is to provide clear, objective, data-driven comparisons that empower consumers to make confident purchasing decisions.

Why PCSpecs.io Exists

The computer hardware market is overwhelming. Hundreds of CPU and GPU models from multiple manufacturers, each with different specifications, performance characteristics, and price points. Marketing materials focus on impressive-sounding numbers that don't always translate to real-world performance. Reviews are scattered across the internet, using different testing methodologies that make direct comparisons difficult.

We created PCSpecs.io to solve these problems. By aggregating benchmark data from multiple reputable sources, normalizing performance metrics, and presenting everything in easy-to-understand comparison tables and rankings, we cut through the noise. Whether you're a first-time PC builder, an experienced enthusiast, or a professional looking to upgrade your workstation, you deserve access to objective data that helps you find the right hardware for your needs and budget.

Our Principles

Complete Independence

We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or paid by any hardware manufacturer. We don't accept payment for rankings, reviews, or favorable treatment. Our only goal is to provide accurate, unbiased information to help consumers make informed decisions.

Data-Driven Accuracy

Every ranking and comparison is based on real benchmark data from multiple reputable sources. We aggregate results from established tech publications and testing organizations, cross-reference for consistency, and exclude outliers. Our Performance Index methodology is transparent and applied consistently across all products.

Continuous Updates

Hardware moves fast. New products launch regularly, drivers improve performance, and prices fluctuate. We continuously update our database with new products, refresh benchmark data when significant driver updates occur, and update pricing weekly to reflect current market conditions.

User-Focused Design

We design our tools for real people making real purchasing decisions. That means clear visual comparisons, avoiding unnecessary jargon, providing context for technical specifications, and offering both quick overview metrics and detailed data for enthusiasts. All our tools are free to use with no account required.

Transparency

We're open about our methodology, data sources, and limitations. Rankings are based on aggregated benchmark data from multiple independent sources. We clearly disclose when data may be incomplete, when we make estimations, and we actively encourage users to report errors so we can maintain accuracy. Check our FAQ for detailed information about how rankings are calculated.

How We Collect and Present Data

Data Sources

We aggregate benchmark data from established tech publications and testing organizations known for rigorous, repeatable testing methodologies. For CPUs, this includes Cinebench, Geekbench, and Passmark scores across single-threaded and multi-threaded workloads. For GPUs, we compile gaming benchmarks across multiple resolutions (1080p, 1440p, 4K) and ray tracing performance from multiple professional reviews.

Performance Index Calculation

Our Performance Index normalizes benchmark data into a single comparable number. We use weighted averages that reflect real-world usage patterns - for consumer CPU rankings, we weight gaming performance and single-threaded scores more heavily, while workstation rankings prioritize multi-threaded performance. For GPUs, gaming performance at relevant resolutions carries the most weight. This methodology allows fair comparisons between products from different generations and manufacturers.

Quality Control

We cross-reference benchmark results from multiple sources to identify and exclude outliers or anomalous data. If a benchmark result differs significantly from the consensus, we investigate before including it in our rankings. We also rely on user reports to identify errors - if you spot incorrect information, please contact us so we can investigate and correct it.

Limitations and Disclaimers

No ranking system is perfect. Individual performance varies based on system configuration, cooling solutions, motherboard quality, RAM speed, driver versions, and silicon lottery variations in manufacturing. Our rankings provide a general guide for comparing products, but we always recommend consulting detailed professional reviews and considering your specific use case before making purchasing decisions. Rankings and benchmark data are provided for informational purposes only.
